Christmas shots for Chris, Whitney and Frankie

Eric and I got to take some fun Christmas pictures of our friends Chris and Whitney as well as their super cute pup Frankie!  We headed out to Ferry Beach State Park to do this a few weekends ago before the snow flurries started hitting the ground. Check out some of the pictures from our cold but fun mini photo shoot!

Point Lookout

We were able to spend the weekend away at Point Lookout for our annual Mountain Trip this year as well as for Melissa and Fred's 1st Anniversary.  Craig was also able to join us from North Carolina and we had an absolutely perfect weekend away! The grounds and cabins at Point Lookout are truly amazing and so well taken care of as well as the fact that you are surrounded by breathtaking views in every direction.  The Point Lookout facility has its own bowling alley, basketball court, arcade, gym and multiple outdoor sports fields among many other things and was a great escape from all things that make life so busy.  Take a peek at some of the pictures from our weekend away; there were many great laughs and memories made that will be cherished forever!

Tricia & Roger: Engagement Session in Historic Waltham, MA

The weather couldn't have been any nicer to be outside shooting an extremely photogenic couple. Our good friends, Tricia and Roger are getting married on September 24, 2011 in beautiful Turks & Caicos and we were lucky enough to be able to photograph them.  With both of them being big fans of baseball I thought, how cool would it be to take their engagement photos at a baseball field! Well, thats exactly what we did and we were able to use the Brandeis University field which worked out just perfect! Here are some of the pictures from the engagement session...Enjoy!

Kate & Alex's Engagement Session

Tauro Photography is still keeping pretty busy with new engagement sessions booked as well as weddings!  One of Eric's co-workers recently got engaged and is in the beginning of all the wedding planning so we were more than happy to take their engagement pictures at the beautiful Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth.  What a beautiful location that really has so much to offer for scenery and backdrops.  We had a fun time shooting Kate, Alex and their cute dog Hunter (who would pose on que)!

Check out a few of the edited images from their session on August 17th!

Senior Pictures

Once our vacation was over we were really bummed that we had to go back to work but I was quite excited to get back to taking pictures!  One of my friends heard that I had started up Tauro Photography with my husband and knew of a young girl that wanted to have her senior pictures taken and passed my number along to her right away.  I was quite excited to take senior pictures for my first time and was anxious to see how it would all work out as well as to see how the images were going to come out!  Our first plan was to take her  pictures at Gooch's Beach in Kennebunkport and at KBIA as well but we actually ended up changing things around on the way to the beach.  We ended up taking pictures at the beautiful St. Ann's Church on the water right down by the jetty and headed over there directly after. These two locations were just so beautiful!

Here are a few of Ellen's senior pictures:

Isleboro Vacation

Every year we take a family vacation with Eric's parents and siblings and we ended up on the beautiful Island of Isleboro this year off the coast of Linclonville, Maine.  Of course there was beautifully peaceful scenery surrounding us that just had to be captured.  Our house overlooked the ocean and was surrounded by tall trees and wildlife, we even saw a bald eagle a few times!

Check out some images of our vacation and our pets enjoying it as well!

St. Onge Family

Appointments are starting to book up, and I couldn't be any happier! After the Cadorette Portraits were over and done with  I was contacted by somebody that knew me quite well when I was a little girl.  Cindy St. Onge (who actually used to be my babysitter) emailed me and now has two beautiful daughters of her own, Leah and Ruby.  We were able to take their pictures at Biddeford Pool  on a warm August night, that was almost ruined by the rain! After the rain had passed we went right onto the beach to have their little photoshoot. The girls were a little timid at first but after about 10 minutes they turned into giggly goofball sisters who really enjoyed their time together.  Here are a few of the images from their session below, enjoy!

Cadorette Family Portraits

Since the last blog Tauro Photography has been getting quite busy. After the facebook page was started we designed our own website (the link is listed in the post before), and started to show off the recent pictures we have taken. As a start to the business I let people know that as a portfolio builder I would take some pictures and in return all they had to do was schedule a time and place.  I was able to take pictures for the Cadorette siblings as a surprise for their parents this christmas and we had a wonderful time doing it. The Audubon right by Biddeford Pool was a perfect location for Jenessa, Andrew and Jordan and we were quite happy with how the pictures turned out in the end. Hopefully they will be able to find some to print and their parents enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them!

Big Things!

So Tauro Photography is up and running with new clients and events booked already, who ever knew that this could be so much fun and could progress so quickly!  I always enjoyed photography as a passion and would  tell my husband, "when I retire I would love to travel and take pictures".  Of course being the supportive husband that he is he encouraged me to start sooner and to test the waters so to speak.  When we found out that our best friends were engaged and that they were planning their upcoming wedding in less than a year I was more than thrilled when they asked me to capture their special day for them.  As their wedding date drew closer I started to get more and more excited (and maybe a little nervous as well) because I knew how important an event this was going to be and wanted to make sure that I exceeded their expectations!  We made our way down to New Jersey the friday before their wedding with all of our good friends and couldn't wait for the Alaimo wedding; Tony and Nikki are perfect for each other and we knew that their big day was going to be perfect for them.  Of course, the night before the wedding I had an extremely difficult time sleeping because I was just so excited and happened to be running through lists of what I wanted to do and the pictures I wanted to take; my only worry was the weather.  July 10th was finally here and the morning weather forecasts weren't looking good at all, they actually said at one point that there could be "torrential downpours" throughout the day; this is where the panic set in.  Luckily I had my husband there to second shoot for me as well as keep me calm as we headed to the place of the ceremony and reception.  It rained a little bit while the bride was having her hair done and then the weather cleared into a beautiful but muggy July day.  We were still able to get the shots that we wanted as well as take their pictures at the beach nearby with the waves crashing against the shoreline from the storm.  All in all my husband and I shot close to 2,000 images for our first event together and we couldn't have been happier with the way the images turned out.  Thank you Tony and Nikki for giving us this great opportuinty to grow and develop our own photography business as this was what finally made us realize that we wanted to explore this new beginning!  So check out our new website at http://www.amandataurophotography.com/ as well as on facebook (Tauro Photography) and send us an email with any inquries!
